Moving on, there is more to life

Don't lose heart. It is disappointing & damn hurting but somethings are just not meant to happen when the time is not right. I still cant explain why Wharton rejected me after having waitlisted me.. but I have come to realize that it just wasnt meant to happen this time around.. I might have made it next year but I took the plunge & am going to Duke. Am i upset.. hell no.. I know I am gonna enjoy every damn day & crib at the same time.. but I am gonna LIVE IT UP!! Just relax... try to put all ur cards down & see what u have & have not got ... make a decision & go ahead with it... :-) Just my coupla thoughts... :-) Cheers

Thanks for your kind words. I know how you must have felt at W's decision. But, Duke is a good choice too. Harry Potter is quite happy there, and he got what he wanted... and I'm not so sure he would have got this much had he gone to W or H! And I truly hope you'll make the best of your experience there... All the best!

The problem in my case is that I don't have anything in my hands. Maybe, I was a little too ambitious and applied only to top-7. Maybe every interviewer and every reviewer was trying to be nice when s/he often said "you surely do deserve a place at W/C/Chi and I'm sure you'll get to choose among them!" ... May be I should have taken 'professional help'. Or may be, I am just a UBI- Indian/IT/Make engineer... And this life of traveling like consultants, working like IBers, and getting paid and living like S/W Engineers doesn't do any good now. Yes, my friend--- grapes are sour, at least for now. Cheers to the dreams!

Note: Finally 'H' graduated from Insead and is doing real good.

Hi Sowmya, How are you? I have been meaning to write to you, but sheer lethargy was stopping me. I have been reading your blog and getting the updates. You are all set to enter Duke, right? You are starting a new phase and best of luck for the next two years. I am sure you will excel in Duke and beyond.

I received feedback from Wharton. I am trying to improve my candidacy as per the feedback, and reapply to Wharton and few more schools this year.

hi simba, Read your blog. u have a gr8 flair for writing. some useful information on gmat, mba etc etc. all the best at duke. will keep mailing. A bout me: Am Deepak - Working for Infosys. Am currently in the US for the past 15 months, for an onsite project. Will be going back by Oct end. Always wanted to do an MBA, but 3 years of IT has made me rusty, and am losing hope and self belief. Struggling to rise above the ashes around me. Thanks.

>> "am losing hope and self belief." - So is everybody! Only you can make a change that you seek! :-)
