Life in a B-School

 

Hi Simba, Since Duke is based in North Carolina, I wanted to know some general things abt the place which will help me understand the environment around the school.

1. Is the college situated in a place that is in a secluded area away from the city or in the middle of the city rush?
2. Are there adventure activities happening around the place?
3. I see that NC is just next to the east coast, so do you have events and activities which can add life to the day to day routine?

The reason why I am asking these questions is that I would like my study place to be situated away from lets say a place like Manhattan where one might work his whole life but I feel that studying in a place which has other aspects attached to it just make it a better combination to excel. I hope these are not embarrassing questions. Thanks & Regards.

I dont know answer for any of these as a business school does not allow you any freedom to even figure out any of these stuff, atleast in the first year! Good Luck!

hey simba, i have been following your blog on and off for a while. now. it is really intresting to read thru it. While checking the Fuqua website i read that the class size is @ 410. having said that i wanted to know if 410 is the number of students attending a particular lecture session. i know there are various specialisations, and that students will have enrolled in different ones. i prefer a small class size such that it improves the student teacher discusssion, and as i am evaluating the probable list of schools i would appreciate any advice in that matter. Sorry for the delay in replying. 410 students are divided into 6 approx equal sections. And each sections have different lecture sessions, so at any one time, about 70 students are in one lecture session. Hope this is small enough :)
