Posted by Simba in : Uncategorized , 4 commentsThings have been on the roll & life is just going on at a fast pace.. I will be soon ending up my Term 2 & heading for a long winter break. I just cant wait to start vacation! Right now, this week will be a breeze as we are taking off till Sunday for Thanksgiving. I have received a Thanksgiving invite from a good pal & I am excited about seeing ‘this’ American tradition. I think it is really cool to take off one day to actually thank people whom you care about! Is that what Thanksgiving is all about.. I think so, correct me if I am wrong! 
We had the Diwali-Eid & Bhangra party last week and it was total fun but a whole lot of work. As organizers, we had decorated the place so beautifully with lights & diyas & lots of colors. We had a lot of non desis who made it to the celebration & they absolutely loved the whole concept! The DJ who was trying to mix some music was so damn confused about whether to play Bhangra music or remix of bollywood stuff! LOL! Am sure he would not come to anymore of our parties.
Today, we had a nice case in marketing about a fiction author & had some good discussion on that. I like books, book publishing & all other things associated with it. LOL! Probably I should seriously consider this bizness, haha, let me spare you thousands of other ideas I feel great about! I am just done with one more A/c class, man, I dont understand a thing in that course! I will be happy if I just pass! Pray for me folks

Posted by Simba in : Uncategorized , 13 commentsThis is killing.. it is brutal.. its beyond any human capability! Ahh.. Term 2 has sapped the energy of almost everybody.. We not only have to deal with Real Hard subjects but also have so much work to do on the career front! Mama, I wanna be back home!
Wonder where the peaceful days have gone.. these days, no one has the time to stand & say ‘Hi’.. everybody’s rushing… somewhere.. anywhere! The IB guys have started getting invitations for personal parties & stuff like that… not everyone is obv getting the invites.. so others who are left out are totally freaking out! Isnt it too early for the summers.. well, not really… the official on campus interviews start off on Jan 9 or so.. & we need to be ready with a lot of stuff by then! The consulting phase has just begun.. with the Biggies McKinsey, BCG etc are here on campus to show what they got to offer! I was pretty much looking at consulting .. but am kinda have to shift gears as there are quite a few problems on that front!
As an international, of many other problems we face, one major issue will be the career front. Consulting Biggies look into your GMAT & GPA. That GMAT will never get off my back, I tell ya! And the General Management dudes want work permit to offer something.. so it really becomes a challenge for someone like me.. I am kinda exploring other opportunities, hopefully something works out! Obviously, you dont come this far to take up some job, right!? And my grades this Term suck big time. I sooooo wish we had more time to figure out a lot of things a B-School has to offer! Also, off-campus career search is something that I have to necessarily start off as an international! You really need to get out & start meeting people! Phew, I am soooo dead…
